Dr. Makenzie Fortney is a DFW native who was born and raised in Irving, so she’s thrilled to settle back home and take care of her local community! She loves spending quality time with her husband Taylor (her college sweetheart), and their two young children. They’re always looking for the next opportunity to stay physically active, or catch a great movie!
She’s committed to providing the highest level of care to her patients and staying current with the latest advancements in oral surgery. She hopes that all her patients experience her passion for personalized service, and they feel at peace when under her care.
After finishing her Biology degree at Hardin-Simmons University, she attended UNT Health Science Center for her Masters in Medical Science. She then furthered her education with research in Infectious Diseases in Memphis, TN prior to attending Meharry Medical College in Nashville for Dental School. Her training finished in Phoenix at Banner University Medical Center, where she completed a 4 year residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. That program served as a level one trauma center and she gained extensive experience in all facets of oral surgery.
Her clinical interests include dental extractions, wisdom tooth removal, dental implants, orthognathic surgery, TMJ management, and facial trauma surgery.
With over 450 hours of continuing education courses and an extensive educational background, Dr. Dad is the perfect full-time addition to our practice as the surgical consultant and dental implant expert. Her role is to streamline your process from initial consultation until delivery of your dream smile!
During her free time, she loves spending time with her husband Emad and their daughter, travelling internationally, baking, and working out (especially barre and Zumba!)
