Dr. Stephen Chan treats all of his patients with warmth, kindness, and a sincere smile. He began his career in the same area he spent much of his young life—Southern California. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and went on to complete his Doctor in Dental Surgery degree (DDS) at the UCLA School of Dentistry. Afterwards, Dr. Chan completed a two-year hospital dentistry residency at UCLA Medical Center, before making a fulltime commitment to his true passion, oral surgery. Dr. Chan then moved to Texas where he successfully finished a residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Parkland Hospital and earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at the world-renown University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas.
His clinical interests include removal of wisdom teeth, placing dental implants and advanced bone grafting, ranging from single tooth replacement and multiple teeth restorations to full mouth reconstruction using the All-on-X technique.
Dr. Chan is very active in organized dentistry and has served in multiple leadership roles at the Texas Dental Association and North Texas Dental Society, where he currently serves as President-Elect. Outside of healthcare, Dr. Chan enjoys learning about technology, selflessly mentoring the future generation, traveling, and trying new foods. He’s married with two daughters who always keep him busy when he’s not at the office!
